I made it up - but that's what you're getting

Last week was a busy one!

As I mentioned in my last post, it was a week on the road. I was in Saskatoon/Dakota Dunes for some training through work. I learned a lot about communicating with people with many different styles and connected with a lot of people within my industry (insurance, exciting, I know). On my way back, I swung into Saskatoon and met up with Barry James McKay at Winston’s Pub for their weekly Open Mic. It was a great time, and I met some awesome people while I was there. Get yer vids heah!

I've been sick for the past week or so. Most annoyingly, it's double tapping - and occasionally triple tapping - me and my ability to make music. First, I've got a nasty earache from it, and occasionally my ear is filling with fluid. So it's been hard to hear stuff and do music stuff. I'm also struggling with a sore throat that's affecting my singing/kazooing. It gave me a nice gravelly rasp when I played at Bushwakker, but it's hard to practice and hit my notes. And there have been a bunch of days that have just been exhausting - the third tap.

Liminal Space

I had a really fun Saturday night in and around Regina Downtown as part of Nuit Blanche. I didn’t take in as much of it as I would have liked, but I got to contribute in my own way and watch my daughter, DJ Tai Lin, spin some tunes at the Rooftop restaurant.
