In appreciation of the library!

In one of my earliest Instagram posts, I show some pictures and talk about how my journey back into performing music was straight through the Regina Public Library. My love and use of the library for this project has not waned at all and there is so much that they continue to bring to this project.

And why shouldn't it?! Working in music can be expensive and takes a lot of resources and work. The library has been there with studio space, information, seminars and events that have been really great, cost-free contributors to the growth of Jeremy and his Kazoo.

Last night I played an open mic presented by the downtown library and the Dunlop Art Gallery housed inside. It was a gorgeous June evening and I joined about 5 other artists as we sang, painted, read poetry, mixed and rapped under the beautiful Saskatchewan skies.

I've been working on a top-secret merch project for my act but I lack some of the skills and knowledge I'll need to pull it off. But the library has classes! So I'm signed up for one next weekend and I'm looking at some of their small business advice seminars too.

And then there's the studios. I'm not much of a studio animal but I'm becoming more and more aware every day that I'm going to need to record some songs soon. If just for promotion. They have free studio booking and I might even take a class or two on recording so that I can put together a good EP or something this winter.

All in all, if you're a musician, artist, entrepeneur or frankly trying to do anything cool in life - go see what your library has to offer! You might be surprised at what you find!
