I took a roadtrip this past Friday out to Swift Current for the open stage at the Lyric Theatre. It's a long drive for a short set but I really wanted to start making connections out there, I had some time to take off and I had some adventures to try on the way out there.
I stopped in Moose Jaw on the way and shot some promos for my upcoming show at Grant Hall on July 5. I also stopped by John's Music and bought myself a new hat and a tubescreamer overdrive pedal. I like my new pedal.
Then it was off to make the rest of the trip to Swift. The crew at the Lyric was super cool and welcoming. I went on early in the night and I think the response to what I do was really good. I even got my picture on the Lyric's Instagram story!
i met some great folks and wanted to leave a shout out to The Grateful Dad who hosted, Whitey Somers who had some killer originals and Reason to Bleed who restored my confidence that rock music is in good hands with our youth.
I may be back in Swift before much longer, I've made a few connections. I'd love to play there as much as possible to be sure!
